Who We Are

Meghna Dalwadi

The seeds of Art Sparks were sown in Meghna Dalwadi’s childhood, when she would visit her masi’s shop, Contemporary Arts and Crafts (CAC) — a beautiful space filled with handmade, eco-friendly items from across India. The vibrant textures, natural materials, and artisanal charm left a lasting impact on her. Inspired by everything she saw, young Meghna would come home and create her own little treasures — from scrap materials, bits of nature, and everyday items — turning them into meaningful handmade gifts. The joy of creating and sharing stayed with her.

Though she went on to study commerce and law and worked in a BPO for a while, Meghna knew that her heart truly belonged to the world of art and craft. So she decided to follow her passion. She pursued fashion and textile designing, explored the world of handmade artistry, and participated in exhibitions that reconnected her with artisans from all over India. In October 2013, Meghna launched Art Sparks — a space that brings together creativity, sustainability, and community. Her vision was to create more than just a store; she wanted a place where art lives, breathes, and inspires.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in clay — her father ran a brick manufacturing business and her uncle a ceramics factory — Meghna has always felt a strong bond with the earth. She travelled across India — from Kutch to Goa to Karnataka — to study and master the art of wheel pottery. Today, her pottery studio is an integral part of Art Sparks. Her journey with teaching began early — right from her school days, she conducted classes for kids using clay, paper, beads, and natural materials. Even then, she sold her handmade products, driven purely by passion.

The Story of Art Sparks

Art Sparks began with a dream — to create a space where natural materials, handmade techniques, and creativity come together. From art and craft to pottery, textile design, block printing, jewellery making, crochet, and macramé — everything at Art Sparks is taught with love, using materials that are organic, eco-friendly, and locally sourced.

Whether it’s a child discovering clay for the first time or an  adult reconnecting with their artistic side, Art Sparks is a space for everyone. It’s not just about learning a skill — it’s about slowing down, connecting with your hands, and finding joy in the process of making.
